Banana Bread

A few weeks ago I had some over ripe bananas and I decided to make some banana bread. I chose this recipe because it had more sugar and butter in it than other recipes (so I knew that it had to be the best). I have made it at least once a week ever since. Audrey loves it even more than I do! One time she was too impatient to wait for me to cut her a piece so she just took a handful out of the loaf.

3/4 cup butter
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 cup mashed bananas (3 bananas)
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp salt
*I add a little more than half a bag of chocolate chips to mine (for the nutritional value)

Cream butter and sugar. Add the rest of the ingredients. Pour into a greased loaf pan, and bake @ 325 degrees for an hour.

*I usually make about 6 muffins with some of the batter...I think next time I will do 12 muffins and just have a skinny loaf of bread.

Sleeping Babes

Audrey really did want to take a nap with little Phoenix, I decided against it.

Braids, and SpongeBob

A few days ago I decided to try french braid pigtails in Audrey's hair. I think they turned out pretty cute.
These are her "spongebob" teeth (she said it, not me). Tonight we were looking in the mirror and she was showing me her spongebob teeth and I tried to do it. Audrey looked at my reflection in the mirror and said "Mommy, you can't do it!" I guess it's a good thing that I can't do "spongebob teeth", right?

Audrey's story

Tonight while we were eating supper Travis started to say something and Audrey interrupted him...

"No, I wanna tell Mommy a story. Once upon a time I slept with my binky. Then I woke up and Daddy cut my binky, and it was broken. Then I threw it in the garbage."

We (ok, it was mainly Travis) finally cut off Audrey to her binky. It really wasn't a fraction as bad as I thought it would be. Travis cut her binky yesterday morning. Audrey freaked out, she screamed and cried as loud as she could, and then she kept talking about how Daddy had cut her binky, and how we had to go to the store to get another one (or three). I didn't even attempt to have her take her nap yesterday for fear of what I would have to deal with. When Travis got home from work he asked me if I had thrown Audrey's binky in the garbage, I told him no. Apparently Audrey decided to do the deed herself. When it was time for her to go to bed she went down without one mention of her beloved paci.

I am so proud of her! I can't believe how easy it was, it almost doesn't seem right, but I will take it!

Feeling Grrreat!

I am feeling great! I am so glad that Phoenix is here, and that I am not pregnant anymore. I have so much more energy, I have way better control of my emotions, and did I mention how much easier it is to move now? I am pretty sure Travis (and everyone around me) is glad that I am back to my normal self. I know I am! Obviously pregnancy is not fun, but it is totally worth it to have a beautiful baby.

Don't wake me, I plan on sleeping in...

I remember laying in bed when I was pregnant with Audrey thinking that my days of sleeping in we over once we had her. Luckily, I was wrong. Audrey sleeps until 9-10am every day (for those of you that don't have kids that might not sound that great, but I know a lot of kids that wake up at 6am...so I am lucky). When I was pregnant with Phoenix I went through the same thing. I was worried that he wouldn't sleep well. Can you tell that I LOVE/NEED my sleep? Well, so far I have been very lucky. Our little guy has been a good sleeper since day 1. At 6 weeks he started to sleep through the night. I hope it lasts!

Audrey: Future Flower Girl

My beautiful friend Jill asked me and Audrey to be in her wedding this November. My Mom brought our dresses down with her when she came last weekend. Can you tell that Audrey LOVES hers (I love my dress too!)? I put the dress on Audrey just long enough to make sure it fit.

Who wore it better?

Just kidding! I love dressing like my sisters...I know, I am like 20 years too old for it, but I still do.

Baby Blessing

Travis blessed Phoenix yesterday in church. A lot of my family came down for it (my parents and 3 of my sisters).

Sadly, Leah couldn't make it. We missed you!

It was a fun weekend, and of course it was over too fast.

Sibling Slide Show

Both Audrey and Phoenix are animated in these pictures...Phoenix looks like he is winding up to punch someone and Audrey is...her crazy little self.

Tip from Audrey

Can't find your make up? Well, Audrey can help you in that department. She showed me that crayons make great eyeshadow.
