4th of July

Our 4th of July Celebration started on the 3rd. We had Brighton over and we went to see some fireworks at a Lake close by.
Before we left Audrey and Brighton had some hotdogs and milk. If you look at Audrey's feet you will notice that she is wearing some flipflops. She threw 3 tantrums in the store to get them, but the good news is that she was an angel for the rest of the shopping trip.

Thank goodness Travis could push one of the strollers!
Brighton loved the fireworks and Audrey went back and forth between clapping and cheering to crying on my shoulder. On the fourth we went to a ward breakfast, which was good. I dressed Audrey patriotically.

Then we went to a parade in Apex, it was hot and humid, and the parade was lame-O. At least we got some good popcorn!

Pizza and Soba!

Just Like Mommy!

Audrey always likes to dress up like a big girl. It is so funny to see all of the things she notices me doing.

These earrings might look familiar. Where have you seen them before you ask? On a Mrs. Potato head. Whenever Audrey sees these she always makes me put them on her ears.

I was at Old Navy last week and I found two pairs of sandals that were in mine and Audrey's size. Hers are pink and mine are silver, but we finally have the same shoes! Audrey loves them in case you can't tell.

One day after Audrey's bath I went out of the room for a minute and when I came back this is how Audrey had her hair. I always wrap a towel around my hair like this when I wash it. Didn't she do a good job?

Magazine Covers

Ever since I met Travis, we have been asked to be on the cover of various magazines. Here is our portfolio:

The truth is that I got bored yesterday and went a little crazy on this website. :-)

Sneaky Sneaky

Whenever Audrey wants to do something naughty, she will go into a room and close to door behind her. It is always a give away that she is up to something...and the funny thing is that if she wouldnt close the door I probably wouldn't suspect her at all. The lighting is bad in her room, so in case you can't tell what she is doing, she is trying to eat a piece of gum...which she knows she is not allowed to have. Also, you can turn the music off by going to the very bottom of the page and clicking the pause button.

Ready to go Swimming!

Me and Audrey go to the pool a few times every week. Both of us love it. Audrey is getting very good at swimming...with her lifejacket on. It is cute to see how much she loves the water.

I bought her this noodle to play with when she goes swimming, but I am pretty sure that she has more fun with it outside of the pool than inside.

She loves to borrow my goggles.

Back Massage

Last night I asked Travis to rub my back because it was hurting. Instead Audrey got down and sat on my back and she rubbed it herself. She even tried to crack my back the way Travis does.

After she was done rubbing my back she got down and wanted me to rub hers. It is only fair, right?

Naughty Audrey

Audrey woke up in a grumpy mood today. Me and Travis were counting down the minutes until her nap. So we put her down at her normal time, and about half an hour later we started hearing noises from her room. We ignored them in the hopes that she would go back to sleep on her own. After another half hour Travis went up to try to put Audrey back down. When he went up there he called down to me "Rachel, you have to come see this"...

Audrey climbed out of her crib, and she took all of her toys out and all of her clothes out of her dresser. When we came in she was jumping in her crib with a big smile on her face.

Then she climbed back into her crib, and took off her pants and diaper.

And she "wet the bed"

The guilty girl.

Carolina Beach

Last weekend we decided to go to the beach. Both me and Travis love the beach and we havent been camping since the summer we got married.
When we got to the campsite a ranger told us that in the whole state of North Carolina you are not allowed to have a campfire because of the drought or something. I was devastated when I realized we couldnt make smores. That is the best thing about camping!

Audrey loved sitting in her little chair. She also loved wearing her life jacket...which is convenient.

Travis wanted to take her out on his surfboard, but I told him he should start with my bodyboard. Audrey loved it.Trav is going out to catch some waves. Surfing is probably his favorite thing to do.
I showed Audrey some seashells and she loved them. One of my favorite things to do on the beach is to look for seashells, and it looks like I have a partner now.

Play

There is this little play place at one of the malls close to me and I brought Audrey and Brighton to it. I like it because it is really easy to keep track of them because it is so small.

Later on that day we brought Audrey and Brighton to Chuck E Cheese's for the first time. They had little games for toddlers to play. We didn't even have to put tokens in the games, all they cared about was pressing the buttons.

Brighton got a pair of green crocs and Audrey was obsessed with them. Me and Trav got her a pair of pink ones and she still prefers his green ones. So the compromise was to wear one of each. Luckily Brighton doesnt mind sharing.

I saw this really cute guy there, I asked for his number but he said he was married.

Travis had to help Audrey peddle the bike to make her fly.

Strawberry picking

Yesterday me and Audrey met up with Janae and Brighton to go strawberry picking. The temperature was almost 100 degrees, and the humidity was 1000% -- give or take a percentage point. Both of the kids has soaking wet hair by the time we were done.

Once Audrey and Brighton discovered that they could eat the strawberries (or apples as they called them) they wouldn't stop. As you can see, the stawberries were very juicy.

This morning Audrey had some of the strawberries from yesterday. She was so excited to be eating strawberries, while she was wearing a shirt with a strawberry on it too.

Yummy!

At the Lake

When Jessie was here we went to a lake. The water was brown and there were tree stumps in the middle. A lot of people were fishing.

We rented a boat and Travis, being the strong man that he is, broke off one of the paddle rings. Audrey stayed with Aunt Jessie while me and Travis rowed back to shore.
